I always loved building legos when I was a kid. Never dreamed I would be building them out of cake one day. This is a 10" square vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. I put a layer of green fondant on top and cut out the pieces to make it look like the building platform that comes with legos. The logo and the actual Legos themselves are made from fondant. Thought this one was pretty cool.

2 cakes for an 11 year old boy whose dream is to join the Army one day. 9x13 sheet chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream in a camoflauge pattern. It was actually easier than I thought. The Army patch and dog tags are fondant. The helicopters were some toys I picked up at the store. The cookie cake is an 11 x15 double chocolate chip chunk cookie cake. I used the same Army colors to finish this one off. Heard through the grapevine that he liked his cakes.

Cupcakes for a sweet little girl turning 2. The big cupcake is carved from 2 strawberry 5" cakes. Its hard to find cupcake cups to fit that so a coffee filter had to do. Sometimes you just use what you have. The little girl wanted pink a licious and I hope I succeeded.

This family was celebrating some fall birthdays. I thought a tree with the leaves falling off would be cool. Saw this idea somewhere else. I was really pleased with how it came out. 9 x 13 sheet Vanilla with vanilla buttercream. Royal icing leaves on a chocolate buttercream tree and fence.

Another fun cake for the boys. Thomas the train and the Island of Sodor. Used black licorice to form the train tracks. Made wooden cross pieces and rocks out of fondant. The sides of the cake are fondant hills with clouds. The trees are fondant as well. Vanilla Poundcake with vanilla buttercream. I think the tunnel is a cool aspect too. The number 3 is carved from 2 12 x 18 sheets stacked on top of one another. Hope the little boy liked this one. I'm sure he was glad to get his train back too!

Wahoooooo!!!!! We made it to the 100th day of school. I made this for the whole Kindergarten at my son's school. All of the classes got together to celebrate and every student helped in counting to 100 that day. 2 11x15 sheets pushed together. Vanilla with vanilla buttercream. Fondant accents on top. I loved seeing the excitement on the kids faces when I wheeled it in. It was cool.

Oh the things we do for our children....... So after a trip to Monster Jam, our son wanted a Grave Digger for his birthday. Not to mention that we got to see this one up close and personal and got to meet the driver. I'm sure that had something to do with it. So this is a 9x13 sheet with chocolate marble cake and chocolate buttercream. The truck is carved from poundcake, covered with chocolate buttercream and covered with fondant. The tires are rice krispie treats. All of the icing on the truck is royal. There are a few things I would do different next time but when the birthday boy comes in with a huge smile and says thats the best cake ever and thank you, it just makes your heart melt and you know you would do it all over in a heartbeat.

2 vanilla cakes with cream cheese icing. I made about 75 violets with royal icing and the violet leaves. These were for a women's gathering at our church called CRAVE. It is awesome and we had 5 other yummy cakes that night that included coconut, caramel, strawberry, and chocolate.
